The Program

The People I  Pledge I  Action I  Share Success I  The Timeline

The daysofchange.org Program has set sail with the successful completion of our Pilot Program that ran in York, Western Australia in August 2009.

The team is now working around the clock to bring you daysofchange.org V2 to be launched across Western Australia on May 1 2010.

The program takes a simple approach of connecting people to support each others change through its innovative social networking website. We will bringing you the latest version of this in May, but there is a lot more that supports the program as shown below.

Spreading the Message_optReaching the People

daysofchange.org has a unique approach to maximising participation.

Our Ambassadors, people from the community who have the passion to make a difference, will use our social networking website to engage others in the program.

So people may receive the invitation to participate from a friend, from a family member, from a work colleague, from a teacher or even while shopping.

This will be supported by digital marketing, online social media and marketing through our major media partners Channel 7 and The West Australian to achieve the 2010 goal of engaging 200,000 West Australians, representing 10% of the state's population.

York Pledge Card_opt.pngPeople Pledge to Take Action

A range of Pledge Cards will specify up to 30 possible actions that people can take in their homes, schools and workplaces to reduce their impact on the planet. Participants will select actions from these cards and make a pledge to complete them online.

Possible actions are grouped according to level of commitment. Details of the annual savings in water, electricity, fuel, waste and money as well as other benefits are provided for each action.

The Household Pledge Card that was used in the York pilot program is shown on the right.

People Take Action
People will be supported via the website to help them complete their pledged actions through:
" Short "How-To" clips and action guides explaining how to put each action into practice.
" Simple explanations of any relevant government rebates, and how to access them.
" Access to discounts on supporting products and services offered by major retailers during the program period.
" Connection with others in the local community who have already completed the actions that they are undertaking.
" Seeing via our website how their efforts, together with the efforts of thousands of other people, can make a big difference.
